A few weeks ago my buddy Noel and I escaped the madness that is Manhattan and headed North. Arriving in the heart of Catskill Park late on a Friday evening, we started our hike. The pitch black and utter silence of the woods at night was such a polar opposite of where we were just hours before, it was surreal. We hiked on for a day and a half, covered 21.5 miles all told and only saw another human in the last few miles on the way back to the car. Not a bad weekend out of the city.
